Newcastle United unveil new club crest

sportsOct 1, 2026

Newcastle United unveiled a redesigned club crest after more than two years of consultation and an independent poll of over 27,000 supporters, with roughly two-thirds (reported as 64.8%) naming the winning design their first choice. The club said the process included supporter events, focus groups, workshops, surveys and advice from leading industry experts, and that every decision stayed within the elements supporters asked to protect. The new crest preserves links to the city coat of arms while being redrawn for clearer reproduction across digital, broadcast and signage platforms. Newcastle will roll the crest out progressively across physical and digital assets and will place it on kits for the 2027/28 season. CEO David Hopkinson described the project as an "enormous privilege and responsibility," and Chief Creative Officer Kenneth McIver said the design was crafted with respect for the club's heritage after repeated testing across formats.
