Las Vegas Aces eliminate Indiana Fever, advance to WNBA semifinals

The Las Vegas Aces defeated the No. 6 seed Indiana Fever 94-83 in Game 3 to win the first-round series 2-1 and advance to the WNBA semifinals. A'ja Wilson led Las Vegas with 36 points and a plus-12 on the floor, playing 37 minutes and making 12 of 15 free throws as the defending champions closed the game on a 12-3 run; ten of those final 12 points came from free throws. Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young each played all 40 minutes, with Gray scoring 11 points in the fourth quarter and Young finishing the series averaging 23.3 points, 7.3 assists and 4.7 rebounds. Indiana shot 38 percent overall and 9 of 32 from three; Caitlin Clark scored 18 points with four blocks and two steals but committed a game-high six turnovers and went 3 of 12 from deep. Aliyah Boston posted a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double and Myisha Hines-Allen added 12 points and 12 rebounds off the bench in 20 minutes, while Kelsey Mitchell scored 23 points and sparked a late run that cut the lead to two before Las Vegas pulled away. The Aces will face either the No. 2 seed Golden State Valkyries or the No. 7 seed Dallas Wings in the best-of-five semifinals, which begin Sunday.
