Fright Club hosts Nightbreed watch party for Clive Barker's birthday

moviesOct 5, 202627310

Fright Club hosted a community rewatch of Nightbreed Director's Cut to mark Clive Barker's birthday, with viewers pressing play across services including ad-free Tubi and one person delayed by a Kanopy library reverification. Participants praised the film's creature makeup and wondered whether the shrink's drugs in one scene were meant to produce hallucinations. Commenters compared Decker to Nolan's Scarecrow, flagged standout creatures such as "Moon head," and made playful references to Midian as the monsters' home. Several posts recalled past talk of a Nightbreed series and expressed hope that Barker would return to the Midian mythos. The watch party mixed close scene-by-scene reactions, character takes, and birthday celebration energy around Barker's work.

It's really sad how quick Mac Tonight's decline was after he got into harder drugs ... . #FrightClub #Nightbreed

#FrightClub You’ll never be able to convince me that Decker isn’t an influence for Nolan’s Scarecrow

Quizno's Hatrack11

It's been a long time since I read the story, it goes a lot more into the mythology though right? As a kid I always wanted this movie to be a trilogy. #FrightClub #NightBreed

I’d love it but he’s got other things that need to be tied off before this. Though if the third Book of the Art brought Harry D’Amour to Midian, I will not complain at all. #FrightClub

Yes Cabal is already set up for a sequel. Would love to have this world expanded. #FrightClub
