London Marathon 2026 underway; 2027 ballot opens

The London Marathon 2026 is running today through central London with elite wheelchair races starting at 08:50, the elite women’s race at 09:05 and the elite men’s race and first mass wave at 09:35. Organizers opened the ballot for the 2027 London Marathon, giving runners a one week window to apply for next year’s entry. The race matters because it determines elite road-racing titles, drives major charity fundraising and offers a limited route for amateur runners to secure a spot in 2027.

Banned choir reinstated for London Marathon The Sunday Telegraph26 Apr 2026 A disability charity has reinstated a choir it banned from the London Marathon over a member’s gender-critical views. Scope dropped The Singing Striders from performing to raise the spirits of entrants to today’s race on Thursday because its founder, Janet Murray, is critical of gender ideology. However, it reinstated their place on the sidelines yesterday after admitting Ms Murray’s views were protected by the Equality Act. “While this is a win, the distress caused by this situation has taken its toll,” Ms Murray said. “At present, only one fellow choir member has said they feel comfortable performing [at the marathon].”

Yeah, I’ve seen Janet Murray bully them into reinstating them, however most of them don’t “feel safe” to perform, so it’s now her and two others, and she’s desperately been casting about for members. It’s very pathetic.

Good, they wont be making much a contribution with two people singing. Hopefully the rest of the choir members reflect on the evil nature of Murray's beliefs and her expression of them and decide to resign from her choir enmasse.

Terfs hide behind the pc of belief and in law that's often enough to claim discrimination. If an org wants them out then they need to be smarter and use their imagination. An email saying we don't like your views is just handing the press another story and ultimately it's giving Terfs another win.
