Super Princess Peach speedrun debuts cosplay at SGDQ 2026
I think "princess peach emotion game" is also an inherently funny concept because at this point in the characters history she had the opposite of emotions. Girl looked like she downed an entire bottle of nyquil at all times for years
i started a fresh playthrough of Sunshine recently and my bestie who's never seen busted up laughing at every shot of Peach because she just stares into the middle distance, sees the Shadow Mario, and barely reacts
I mean I remember those reviews that call it anywhere between "Low Key Sexist" to "Outright Backwards". SOME could argue it's about "accepting" emotions as powerful instead of "Women are Emotional wrecks." I for one can't stand it once someone pointed out the real protagonist is the dude parasol.
I think it's a lot more endearing in an atmosphere with more woman characters. At the time this was marketed as Nintendo's first female lead since Samus. So the emotions thing felt like more of a jab toward women generally
Our girl was on VALIUM
She took an entire bottle of nyquil daily for years, then acquired one (1) Hitachi vibrator, and suddenly realised there are more emotions than ennui
That's why she had to have an adventure about them
