Willy Adames hit a one-out grand slam to center field, part of a 393-foot, 105.5 mph shot off Nick Davila, as the San Francisco Giants beat the Seattle Mariners 7-0. Right-hander Landen Roupp pitched seven shutout innings to set the tone for the Giants in their second-half opener at Seattle. Drew Cavanaugh reached base four times, with two hits and two walks, and an early error by Seattle led to a run that helped open the scoring. The play-by-play entry lists Adames' blast as his 16th and shows the pitch as an 86.5 mph slider. The win left San Francisco 7, Seattle 0 in the top of the seventh when the grand slam arrived. Bryce Eldridge also reached a franchise milestone by tying for 182nd most home runs in Giants history with his ninth career homer.
