Shohei Ohtani hit his 30th homer of the season, a 448-foot two-run shot in Denver, and then threw a bullpen session at Coors Field as the Dodgers advance his pitching rehab. Manager Dave Roberts said Ohtani gave a thumbs up after the session and estimated Ohtani threw about 35 pitches, a normal number for recent sessions, likely using his full pitch mix. Roberts indicated that Ohtani could face live hitters when the Dodgers return to Chavez Ravine to start a homestand on Friday. Ohtani has not pitched in a game since July 3, when he threw 6.0 innings, allowed three runs and struck out nine, and his season numbers remain a 1.79 ERA in 85.2 innings with 95 strikeouts and 26 walks over 14 starts. He remains a constant in the Los Angeles lineup as the designated hitter, leading off Tuesday night against the Rockies.
