Carlos Sainz Jnr has signed a new multi-year contract to remain with Williams, the team announced ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix. Sainz, who joined Williams last year after Ferrari made way for Lewis Hamilton, recorded two podiums in 2025 but has scored six points so far in a difficult 2026 campaign. Sainz said he is "thrilled" to extend his deal, praising the people at Williams and the investments happening behind the scenes and adding "We have what it takes to turn this around together." Williams team principal James Vowles called retaining Sainz alongside Alex Albon "one of the strongest line-ups on the grid," saying Sainz is a leader who works day in, day out with his engineers. The signing secures Williams' driver lineup for 2027 and signals Sainz will remain part of the team's rebuilding effort on and off track.
