Dallas Wings rookie Azzi Fudd to miss remainder of season

The Dallas Wings announced Wednesday that rookie guard Azzi Fudd will undergo a season-ending arthroscopic procedure to address ongoing right knee soreness. Fudd, the first overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft, last played Aug. 5 against the Washington Mystics and has a history of right-knee injuries including two ACL tears. In her debut season Fudd averaged 13.1 points, 1.8 assists, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.7 steals across 30 games, ranked sixth in the league in 3-point percentage at 39.7 percent, and finished ninth in total steals with 52. She was the first rookie to win the WNBA 3-Point Contest and scored the second-most points ever in that contest's final round. With Fudd sidelined, Dallas has lost four of five games and slipped to eighth in the standings; veterans Odyssey Sims and Alysha Clark have started in her place.
