Cam Smith launched a 421-foot, ninth-inning solo off Jhoan Duran to give the Houston Astros a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. The homer, hit 31 degrees at 105.7 mph off a 98.5 mph splitter with 1608 rpm, was Smith's 20th of the season and put Houston ahead with one out in the ninth. Christian Javier worked six innings in the start and Bryan Abreu closed effectively, and the Astros took two of three games in the series at Citizens Bank Park. The victory moved Houston to 75-72 and came before a reported crowd of 38,642. The blast was the second homer allowed by Jhoan Duran this season and makes Smith the sixth Astros player to reach 20 homers at age 23 or younger.
