Contrarian News published "15 Ways to Fight Callais," a 15-tactic action guide urging passage of the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act. The roundup features contributions from Bryan Fair, voter-protection leader Lauren Groh Wargo of Fair Fight Action, and Juan Proano of LULAC. It lays out legislative, executive, and judicial steps, including targeted litigation, federal legislative pressure, and coordinated voter-mobilization campaigns. The guide frames the 2026 election as a decisive moment and gives activists concrete tactics to pressure lawmakers and courts to restore voting protections.

🧵(1/5) 🗺️REDISTRICTING UPDATE This is where the redistricting battle stands after SCOTUS ruled this week in Callais v. Louisiana to gut the Voting Rights Act, and effectively invalidate a key tool used to fight racially discriminatory maps. Here's where state efforts currently stand👇

(2/5) 🔴WHERE CAN THE GOP GERRYMANDER? LA and AL have already spurred into action. Other GOP-led states like TN and GA are considering following suit. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

This is assuming that the people actually vote for the GOP in those districts! Which, based on recent elections, it's possible that the expected seats may be lost.

Fair elections that represent the will of the majority is very nearly dead. Democracy itself will die as a result. We're headed toward bad times. If you think I'm over-reacting, read a history book.

Ohio has moved my street address district THREE times & it is ridiculous. Moving me from 1st district to 8th district next year. Prior to 1st, it wasn't that long ago that I was in 2nd district. Moving me from a Dem. rep. to a GOP rep. in more conservative counties than my home county. Sad in Ohio.

We are screwed because SCOTUS is filled with klansmen.

CA, NY, CT, MA and MD have a chance to do the funniest thing here. Blue could pick up 100's seats if the districts are drawn by blocks instead of miles😂

Texas was already so gerrymandered the new map almost certainly ensures more democratic seats, particularly with the turnout we’ve been seeing this year

Why aren’t more blue states joining in?

I'd like to see some numbers on the map and a running total. Also, where do we stand on the Senate?

serious question here. when they redistrict in louisiana, if it isn't proportionally even racially, could one argue intentional discrimination? i mean, non-black ppl said the 6th discriminated against them. but if they redraw so THEY get a big advantage... could we tie it up in court?

The fact that this is even a subject, shows how broken this country is.
